Executive Director: David Heimann

David Heimann is the founder and Executive Director of AD SODALITATEM. He holds a Master of Divinity from Loyola University Chicago and has worked as the Coordinator for Youth Ministry at St. Ignatius Parish for seven years starting Youth in Action Ministries there. He was part of the first class of Lay Ecclesial Ministers prepared for service in the Archdiocese of Chicago through the Together in God’s Service Program.

His vision developed the One Body One Spirit Project which was inspired greatly by World Youth Day Experiences and immersion programs to Rwanda and Paraguay. He has given numerous workshops at parishes and schools about these experiences and is ever excited by the possibilities about what young people can do as we come to more fully know the needs of the poor in the world.

David graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. with a Bachelor of Music in Music Theater and Honors in Classic Philosophy in 1997. He then volunteered at with the Alum Service Corps of the Missouri Province of the Jesuits in 1998, serving at St. Louis University High. He continues to perform and direct regularly in the Chicago theater community, holding a Jeff Citation for Supporting Actor in a Musical or Revue in the year 2004. He volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America serving on the OA Shows committee for National Conferences and National Jamborees. He also assists the Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Archdiocese of Chicago. David worked intimately with the performance and stage work of both celebrations of the Festival of Faith in Chicago.

Project Manager; Katie Kustusch

Katie Kustusch is the Project Manager for Ad Sodalitatem. Currently, she works at the Sheil Catholic Center at Northwestern University in the Development office. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in German with honors from North Central College, where she also completed a thesis on lay women in leadership in the Catholic Church, entitled Unveiled Grace. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Katie comes to Ad Sodalitatem with a passion for seeing the Catholic community grow in their generosity towards one another. Although she is a proud fourth generation native Chicagoan, she has lived and traveled extensively in Europe, and is especially interested in cross-cultural communication. She is passionate about The One Body One Spirit Project for many reasons, not the least of which was her experience at World Youth Day. She is more excited every day about the possibilities of Ad Sodalitatem.

Katie also owns Katie's Candles, which sells her hand-crafted, custom-made, all-natural soy candles. Actively involved in ministry in a variety of ways, she serves on the Adult Support Team of the Northside Kairos, and as Activity Catechist in the SPRED program at St. Gregory Parish.
